As a COVID-19 precatuion, we do not currently allow any in-studio pickups or visits. 

Please remove any crystal, ribbon, or decorative flowers before your burning ritual. Any floral materials attached directly onto the smudge stick do not have to be removed. Ignite your smudge stick at a 45 degree angle, pointing the tip down toward a flame for at least 45 seconds. Gently blow out and move about your space to clear the energy and set your intentions. 

We don’t suggest putting out any burning ash under water, but rather placing your smudge stick on a non-flammable surface to slowly burn out. 

We suggest burning your smudge stick in an open, breathable area such as your home or office space. If possible, opening a window for air circulation will help move out the negative and stale energy. 

As a precaution, you can ignite your smudge stick outdoors to see if you have any adverse reactions towards the smoke. If you begin to feel any irritation in your nose or throat, immediately put out the flame or ash under water and remove it from your space. If you are indeed allergic to the smoke, we recommend trying our smokeless Palo Santo room and linen spray! 

All of our burning tools are meant for healing, space and energy cleansing, but you can choose a smudge stick based on scent or instinctually, what calls to you.

Our crystals are meant to be keepsakes and helps to enhance your burning ritual. We like to keep our crystals near by as they can amplify your intention setting. 

You can keep your smudge stick out in the open as a decorative piece but we suggest keeping it out of direct sunlight. 

You can have as many burning rituals as your heart desires throughout each day. Each smudge stick, if burned once a day for around 3-5 minutes should last at least 1-2 months. 

All of our floral materials are ethically and sustainably sourced from local southern California growers and farmers. Materials that are sourced outside of the US have also been carefully researched and vetted for quality, ethics, and sustainability.

Because each one of our products are handmade and made to order, processing times can take anywhere from 5-7 business days. If you need an order to ship sooner, please email sales@blackandjane.com and we will do our best to assist you.

All exchanges and returns must be initiated within 5 days after the package has been delivered. Once a exchange or return is agreed upon, the buyer is responsible for paying their own shipping costs for the exchange or return. Exchanges or returns must be receieved within 5 days of confrimation. We do not accept exchanges or returns after the 5 day period unless previously agreed upon. All shipping costs are non-refundable. We cannot accept exchanges or returns on used or opened products. All returns are subject to a 20% re-stocking fee based on the total cost of the refund.
